EDM Performance Accessories (EPA) was created back in 1989 by Jim Swartzbaugh, owner and founder of North-South Machinery. After he started North-South and became a successful west coast dealer for the Mitsubishi machinery line, he saw the immediate and growing need for a local supplier for the consumables needed for all EDM customers.

His first steps were to create and design a flush cup that was superior in performance, and increased the speed at which the EDM machines could perform - hence the name EDM Performance Accessories was born.

Business soon took off, and EPA was doing well selling their brand of flush cups, but still there was more the EDM customers needed….

Fast forward to 1997 when Jim met Tom Adams as they discussed a plan to bring high quality wire, filters, resin, and spare parts to the EDM customers at a price that would shock the EDM industry. Tom eagerly came aboard as Vice President and business began booming from there.

To accommodate the needs of the industry, Tom and Jim opened offices in Northern California, then Ohio for the Midwest, and Florida for the southeast. The Mitsubishi/ CPG line was added to the product mix, and soon EPA became the ‘One Stop Shop’ that it is today where customers could find all of their consumable needs.

EPA continues to grow and expand its product base to meet the needs of the industry. In addition to all EDM consumables, EPA is now carrying Waterjet, and Laser parts. EPA will continue to grow and expand our product lines as the needs of our customers increase.
